How much does your suction unit cost you?

Inverter technology adapts the motor speed to demand. Estimate what that means for your practice.

Example values: replace them with those of your practice (unit rating plate, electricity contract).

Estimate: Cattani states that a Smart suction unit uses 30 to 50% less electricity than a fixed-speed suction unit. The actual result depends on your usage. A specialist can check it on your installation.

Technology

Engineering that makes the difference

A family company that devotes its research to two fields: suction and compressed air.

Inverter (variable speed)

Dedicated software continuously controls motor speed: high speed when performance is needed, reduced speed when that is enough.

Power consumption is proportional to use; longer motor life, lower operating costs. · up to 50% energy savings compared with a fixed-speed suction unit

Source: Cattani documentation, turbosmart 02 2020, p.2

Programmable vacuum

The operator sets the vacuum as needed; the unit automatically adapts the vacuum to chair demand.

The right power for every procedure: saliva ejector, HVE cannula or surgical cannula. · Micro Smart: 70 mbar (saliva ejector), 100 mbar (HVE cannula), 210 mbar (surgical cannula)

Source: Cattani documentation, turbosmart 02 2020, p.6

Centrifugal separator (semi-wet suction)

Air and liquids reach the machine together; the suction unit creates the vacuum in the centrifugal separator, where the fluid from the practice enters.

Suction, air-liquid separation and amalgam retention integrated in a single machine.

Hydrocyclone ISO (amalgam separation)

Amalgam separator built into Smart suction units, with electronic amalgam level monitoring.

On-screen alarms at 95% and 100% container fill: replacement can be planned. · ISO 18: max. flow 18 l/min per ISO 11143, 250 ml container; ISO 6: 5.5 l/min, 115 ml container

SmartApp and Wi-Fi

Turbo Smart, Turbo Smart TS, Turbo Smart 2V, Turbo Smart Cube, Micro Smart and Micro Smart Cube are controlled with the SmartApp application, on tablet or smartphone.

The practice monitors its suction unit without going down to the equipment room.

Diagnostic display

The suction unit keeps the operator informed: vacuum, maintenance, current draw, machine temperature, amalgam level, operating hours.

Faults appear on screen; the machine logs events for accurate diagnosis.

Does a variable-speed suction unit really use less?

Yes: thanks to the inverter, consumption is proportional to use, with savings of up to 50% compared with a fixed-speed suction unit.

Source: Cattani documentation, turbosmart 02 2020, p.2

Is a Turbo-Smart noisy?

Turbo-Smart A: 68.4 to 69 dB(A) without cover, 66.4 to 67 dB(A) with plastic cover, 48.5 to 49.5 dB(A) in an indoor soundproof cabinet.
